Finding Local Food in Maryland - 2010

This blog is being created to follow and highlight local food issues in the state of Maryland, with the plan that several local food delivery mechanisms will be available for the general public and institutional buyers during the 2010 growing season. Many farms have created websites and many include the ability to place orders for food that can be picked up at farmers markets, but not everyone is close enough to those markets, and sometimes schedules do not allow for picking up products, so a number of dedicated people across the state have been experimenting with different software programs in 2009 that, when joined with existing food wholesalers or a new delivery system, will allow people in all areas to peruse farm inventories and order products which can get to their front door, or at least to a pick-up point in their town. If you are involved with any aspect of food delivery in Maryland, please join this blog and add helpful information from your county.

We plan to be at th Buyer-Grower Conference January 21, 2010 in Annapolis, MD, with information on software programs and delivery details for each county.. See you there
